Backflow Preventer testing:  Homeowners are responsible for the testing of their back flow preventers. A letter from the county is sent to each homeowner when the testing is due. Even though your old style valve is no longer approved by the county, it does not need to be replaced until it fails. When it fails, it must be replaced with an approved type.  read more

Feeding of Alligators in Florida is illegal. Statute 372.667 makes it a misdemeanor to feed Alligators or Crocodiles. Feeding of alligators causes them to lose their natural fear of humans. read more

Be Floridian, Fertilize Less, Enjoy Florida More!   Sarasota prohibits the use of fertilizer containing nitrogen and phosphorus during the summer rainy season. Summer rains wash fertilizers and pollutants from our yards into our ponds, creeks, and bays. Florida Laws outline animal owners responsibilities. The Florida statutes outline the state’s dog provisions, which mainly cover dangerous dog/dog bite laws.  The owner of any dog that bites any person while such person is on or in a public place, or lawfully on or in a private place, including the property of the owner of the dog, is liable for damages suffered by persons bitten, regardless of the former viciousness of the dog or the owners’ knowledge of such viciousness. read more
